Socket testers provide a fast and effective solution for identifying potentially unsafe installations and wiring faults, and can be particularly useful as a service tool for detecting unsafe conditions prior to installing new plant and equipment. The Martindale BZ201 Series includes both 16A and 32A industrial versions of the classic check plug, fitted with a 230V 16A or 32A plug to BS EN IEC 60309-1. Wiring faults are instantly indicated by one or more of the LEDs failing to illuminate - a fail-safe approach designed to identify 28 fault conditions through the pattern of lit LEDs.

There is a look up chart on the tester for quick diagnosis of common faults. In addition the BZ201 also checks the mains voltage level The robust ABS moulded housing gives lasting durability and is maintenance free. Socket testers are not an alternative to the full verification of wiring installations, however as a first line indicator they are an essential tool for all maintenance teams. The BZ201 series, in common with all other standard socket testers, does not detect Earth / Neutral reversal. The BZ201 has an audible sounder to confirm that the wiring is correct. This is particularly useful when checking sockets that are not easily visible or in difficult to access locations. The audible indication can also be used as a basic fuse finder. When the correct fuse is pulled the buzzer stops.
